WHAT DOES IT COVER?
- Australia faces important decisions about how its addresses issues around housing affordability given the current shortage of housing across the nation & growing affordability issues.
- The National Affordable Housing Summit group is holding a series of Round Tables across Australia to exchange information & ideas about recent national initiatives to boost the supply of affordable rental housing.
- This includes especially the:
- National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS)
- Social Housing Initiative under the Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan
- Housing Affordability Fund
- National Affordable Housing Agreement.
- It will be chaired by the chair of the Summit group, Prof Julian Disney, & will include participants from the community, housing & finance sectors, as well as experts from academia & government.
